Middle School Students on Elementary Campus: Rules & Guidelines
Guidelines for Middle School Students on the Diedrichsen Elementary School Campus
Due to the actions and behaviors of some middle school students on and around the Diedrichsen campus, middle school students are NOT allowed on the Diedrichsen elementary school campus during school hours (8:30-2:45) UNLESS they are picking up a younger sibling(s) from school. Any middle school student that is picking up a sibling(s) MUST have a signed Sibling Pickup Permission Form that is approved and on file with the school. Please see the front office for these.
Before allowing a middle school student to be on the Diedrichsen elementary school campus to pick up a sibling(s), staff must confirm that a signed Sibling Pickup Permission Form is on file in the office. Students picking up their sibling(s) may arrive on the elementary school campus no earlier than 10 minutes before dismissal (2:35). To ensure the safety of our students, all other middle school students are NOT allowed on campus.
When picking up a sibling(s), middle school students are asked to be respectful and use kind words and actions with staff, students, and families. Please no cussing, yelling or inappropriate language, no food or leaving trash on the ground.
Please be responsible by being on time and picking up your sibling(s) at a designated pickup location. Once siblings are picked up, students must leave campus immediately. We ask that middle school students do not enter the school building or roam around the school campus.
We also ask that you are safe and to always walk, keep hands and feet to yourself, and respect those around you. Please do not run, climb or hang on the trees, throw things, or ride any bicycles/skateboards on campus.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a warning, parent contact, or loss of the privilege to pick up sibling(s). Parents will be given a courtesy call to address any concerns with middle school students who are picking up sibling(s).
If a middle school student is on the Diedrichsen campus without approval, they will be asked to leave immediately. If a middle school student is asked to leave the campus and refuses, school police may be called for support. If the student continues to disregard these guidelines, student may be trespassed by school police, if necessary.
Parents, please help by reviewing these expectations with your middle school student if they will be coming onto our campus to pick up a sibling(s). This will help us to keep a safe and positive environment for our younger students. Thank you for your support.
Note: The safety of our students at Diedrichsen is the top priority. If there is any uncertainty about a pickup situation, middle school students will be asked to leave the premises.
